South of Pulau Perhentian, the nine-island group of Pulau Redang, with its marine park, has long been one of Malaysia's favourite tourist destinations, and is usually considered the East Coast's premier dive destination as well.
Located 26 nautical miles north of Kuala Terengganu, it is accessible by boat from there and the town of Merang. The island has its own small airport. Plus, a variety of accommodation for visitors.
The first Marine Park Centre was established on this island. Conservation efforts have resulted in Pulau Redang having prolific, coral growth and fish life.
Best Diving : April to September.
Visibility : Up to 20m in peak season, 8m otherwise.
